About the Author

Mark Foreman is a simple man who is learning to follow Jesus wholly. He is the husband of Jan and father of Jon and Tim of the band Switchfoot. He is the lead pastor of North Coast Calvary Chapel—a “church without walls”—which has built its reputation by erasing the barriers of the church.  Mark has traveled the world and is personally involved in reaching Muslims, working in South African townships, bringing freedom to Indian Dalits, and helping orphans in Thailand and Cambodia. Mark himself is a surfer and songwriter, and also serves as an associate professor at Bethel Seminary San Diego.

Brother Mark,It’s been awhile since our paths have crossed..We have been in N.M.(Santa Fe) for almost ten years. Have tried to
connect when I was in San Diego, but missed you. I did pick up
Wholly Jesus and it resonated with some of the thoughts and work I have been doing..Would love to dialogue about that if
possible. I may be in San Diego for the Renovare retreat in July any chance of you being home? Michael is good,he was the
contractor for the house we built..It is awesome, ..ever think of visiting??We’d love to see you and Jan..It would be great to touch base..
I am on a task force with the attorney generals office on Human
Trafficking, and thinking about compiling all my work from
Bethel into a book, thought you might have some mentoring advice in that department. My friend Laurel keeps me posted
on what is going on at Calvary, we do miss Calif. church life
that is for sure!!!!!We have been immersed in the disciplines
have been going for spiritual direction and have a group of
spiritual companions…but the church in general is in need of
some good balanced teaching, with balanced vibrant worship..
we continue to pray a season of refreshing in the presence of the Lord. Some of your stories resonated with our experience in the 70’s and 80’s..It was awesome..Send our love to Jan
open invitation to Santa Fe look forward to hearing from you

My husband and I really enjoyed visiting NCCC. You have become an awesome teacher for our Lord, Mark. We will visit again when we come for a visit to Carlsbad.
Thank you for introducing me and a bunch of other kids to Jesus back in 1968.

    Keep up the good work.
